Laura Romeo, PhD

I started in the classroom as a teacher, and everything I have done since has been in service of that same mission: making sure every student who shows up to learn can actually access what you put in front of them. That work took me from teaching into curriculum design, then into instructional technology, and eventually into accessibility. Along the way I kept running into the same wall. Institutions that wanted to do the right thing but didn't know where to start. Practitioners doing the work alone without the tools or support they needed. Students hitting barriers that nobody had thought to remove. My research, rooted in inclusive content design and assistive technology, gave me the framework. My work across higher education institutions gave me the practice. And somewhere in between, I realized that the gap between wanting to be accessible and actually getting there was mostly a resource problem. That is why I built this. Not to add to the pile of compliance documentation that already exists, but to give the people doing this work something they can actually use. Practical, ready-to-customize tools built for how higher education really works. If student success drives your work the way it drives mine, you are in the right place.
